Frequently Asked Questions
Can I insert blank pages at specific positions?
Yes. Select "Custom ⭐" mode and type page numbers or ranges such as 2, 5, 8-10. Blank pages are inserted after (or before) each specified page. Click Add to tag the positions, and remove any tag by clicking ×.
Will the blank pages match my PDF size?
By default "Match PDF ⭐" is selected — blank pages inherit the exact width and height of the adjacent page. You can also override with A4, US Letter, A3, A5 or Square from the Page Style tab.
What is "Intentionally Left Blank"?
Enabling this toggle adds the standard disclaimer text "This page intentionally left blank" centred on each inserted blank page — commonly used in legal, academic and technical documentation.
Can I insert multiple blank pages at once?
Yes. The "Blank Pages per Insert" dropdown lets you add 1, 2, 3 or 4 blank pages per insertion point. For example choosing 2 with "After Every" mode doubles every page gap in the document.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
Never. PDF-lib.js runs entirely in your browser — it reads and rebuilds the PDF file in memory. The download is triggered locally. No data ever leaves your device.
Why add blank pages after odd pages?
This is a classic double-sided printing technique — each chapter or section always starts on a right-hand (odd) page. Inserting blanks after odd pages ensures sections never bleed onto a back page.
