Frequently Asked Questions
Will deleting pages reduce my file size?
Yes. When you delete a page and generate the new document, PDF-lib physically omits that page's content stream and associated resources from the final file, reducing the file size accordingly.
Does rotating a page degrade its quality?
No. Rotation is applied mathematically to the page's dictionary metadata only (setting the orientation flag to 90, 180, or 270 degrees). The original images, text, and fonts are copied directly with zero re-compression — identical to the source file quality.
Is there a page limit for organizing?
There is no hard limit. The tool previews up to 200 pages to prevent browser memory issues, but the final PDF is built from all pages in the source document. Very large PDFs (500+ pages) may slow down the thumbnail generation phase.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
Never. Both thumbnail rendering (PDF.js) and final document generation (PDF-lib.js) execute entirely in your web browser. Your private files are completely secure and never transmitted.
